On Monday, October 2nd, Dr. Fessler, District 59 Superintendent, and Sharon Roberts, School Board Member, visited Forest View to see the exciting learning we are doing here. Our kindergarten students in Mrs. Panek’s class were engaged in problem solving in math and working at math centers to show off their mathematical thinking. In Mrs. Scott’s 3rd grade class students shared their writing during a Publishing Party. Students had choice in what they wanted to write about and took turns sharing their published story with classmates. This was a great opportunity for students to practice their presenting skills as well as audience members practicing their listening skills. Students learned more about each other as writers and some students even had an “About the Author page” in their book. We are so proud of our students and their engagement in learning. It was great to have guests visit and see the wonderful things we are doing.
