Letter from the Principal

Letter from the Principal

Michael Wall Square

Dear Forest View Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to another exciting year of learning at Forest View Elementary. We are eagerly anticipating the return of school and our students as we continue to grow together and prepare students to be successful for life.

This will be my fourth year in the principal role at Forest View, and I’m looking forward to continuing to foster connections between students, families, and staff.

As a school, we strive to challenge each individual student at their own level through engaging, authentic learning experiences that center on providing students time to engage in the real work of learning. Rather than talking to students about writing, we focus on having them write. Rather than talking about math skills in general, we focus on helping them use those skills to solve problems they care about. The result is classrooms that are alive with learning, with students working alone and in teams, utilizing technology in ways that enhance learning, and providing time and space for students to share their thinking with others.

A huge part of our school community happens beyond the classroom walls. The Forest View Parent Teacher Organization is extremely active in contributing to the success of the students as well. The PTO provides support to the school community by providing cultural arts programs, book fairs, helping needy families, providing supplies and materials for the classrooms and school, but most importantly, volunteering their time. The support of parents and the community is an integral aspect of the success of this school. Working together for the education of all students makes Forest View a great place to learn.

I look forward to being able to meet and speak with all of you regarding the school and how we can work together to ensure the ongoing success of all of our students.

All the best,

Michael Wall, Principal
