Forest View is located in Mount Prospect, Illinois, a northwest suburban area of Chicago. We are one of 14 schools in Community Consolidated School District 59. We have approximately 470 students from preschool to fifth grade. Forest View first opened its doors in 1962 and during the past 51 years has undergone several building renovations. The most recent was in 1996, which provided us with the state of the art facility that we have today.

Forest View houses and supports a number of different programs. The LOP ( Learning Opportunities Program) is made up of three classes supporting students at various grade levels: a kindergarten through 2nd grade class, a 3rd grade class and a 4th & 5th grade class. These students come from various district schools and receive intensive help instructionally through the use of an alternate curriculum. Forest View also houses an ESL program that supports students from kindergarten through 5th grade. This program provides instruction in English for students with a second language. Our youngest learners attend the preschool program which supports children ages 3-5.

In addition to supporting district programs we have within our school support in reading and math, as well as a special program called TDP (Talented Development Program) for students in 3rd-5th grade. Students in the TDP program qualify based on test scores in a variety of areas.

Forest View offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities. The clubs may vary from year to year but we have offered in the past, Literacy Club (1st – 5th ), Chorus (4th, 5th), Student Senate (4th, 5th ), Intramurals (all grades), Fitness Club, Cooking Club, and Service Club (5th ). Each of these clubs meet at different times during the year.
